Zebu cattle are marked by their long, thin legs, and hump on their shoulders. Similar in apperance in some ways with Brahma cattle, this breed of cow is believed to have originated in Africa. In the US this breed of cow is somewhat rare.
Traditional markings for the Zebu are grey with black on the shoulders, honches or other area. These cows bred at Hatch Farms are unique because of the introduction of white markings, and more impressive the speckling markings of some of the herd.
The bulls and the cows have the hump on their shoulders, though the bulls are usually taller than the cows. These cattle are very sucesptible to the cold, due to their lanky frames and their adaptations for warmer climates.
